RE: cat delete and a tune
i think you posted this in the wrong section man.

deleting your cats will only get you 5 or 6 horsepower. it will sound raspier but i wouldn't suggest doing it if your county has sniffer tests.

the tune however will wake your truck up and is well worth the money.

RE: cat delete and a tune
in that case you should put some headers without cats on before you tune it.

i dont think it would be worth it to tear them out.

RE: cat delete and a tune
i've never heard of it messing up your computer.

all it does is throw codes for the rear o2's; which all they do is read the cats.
your front o2's are the ones that run the engine and deleting your cats wont mess with those at all.

not trying to argue, but i have done alot of research on this.

RE: cat delete and a tune
Almost all the newer cars and trucks have the O2 after or on the cat. Removing the cat makes the computer think somthing is wronge. The truck may run ok but in no way will it give you anykind of power that you could tell. Maybe like 1-2 HP but you would probable loss up to 5 HP without it. Car companies tune everything removing the cat will change your backpressure You need that to run right. The only time you need no backpressure is if you are drag racing. Now if you drive WOT to stop then it may help.

i guess i cant speak for other cars but our trucks have 2 o2s for every cat. the second one does nothing for the motor.
